John Guidetti: 'Celtic can get even better,' says Sweden striker

Celtic will resume their Scottish Premiership campaign against Hibernian on Monday, with their Swedish striker hoping they can maintain their impressive start to the season

John Guidetti has warned Hibernian that Celtic will be even better when they begin their Scottish Premiership campaign again on Monday. The Hoops have won nine, drawn three and lost one of their opening 13 matches, with their only defeat being a narrow 2-1 loss against their bitter rivals Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers’ team currently sit top of the standings, three points clear of their closest rivals Aberdeen at the time of writing, and crucially one game in hand. And Guidetti, who has scored 13 goals already this season, believes there is more to come from the Scottish champions.

“We have started well but I know we can be even better,” Guidetti said. “We got a lot of new players this summer and it takes time for everyone to get to know each other but I think every game we are taking a step forward.

“We are creating a lot of chances and we are defending very well. I think if we can keep this up, we will be very difficult to beat.

“Hibernian are a good team but we are confident that we can go there and get three points. We know it will be a tough game but we are ready for it.”

Celtic will be looking to continue their impressive form when they take on Hibernian in front of the live television cameras at Easter Road Stadium on Monday night.
