Strictly Come Dancing fans left emotional as show pays tribute to Hairy Biker Dave Myers: 'Can I apply for therapy?'

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left in tears on Saturday night after the launch episode paid a touching tribute to Hairy Biker Dave Myers.

The much-loved chef was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and he has been forced to pull out of the competition.

However, the show paid tribute to him in a touching VT, which saw him talking about his love of dancing and his disappointment at not being able to take part.

Fans were quick to take to social media to share their thoughts on the tribute, with many saying it had left them in tears.

"Can I apply for therapy?" wrote one fan on Twitter.

"That was so emotional," said another.

"I'm not crying, you're crying," joked a third.

Myers was originally paired with professional dancer Karen Hauer, but he was forced to withdraw from the competition after being diagnosed with cancer.

He has since been replaced by Matt Goss, who will now dance with Hauer.
