Spain are the first nation through to the Euro 2024 final after beating France 2-1 in Munich.

A narrow victory against France sets up a meeting with either Croatia or the Netherlands in Sunday's showpiece at the Allianz Arena.

After a series of games at this years UEFA Nations League, Spain's perfect campaign continued as they overcame a courageous Georgia team to set up a UEFA EURO 2024 quarter-final against France.

This is the sixth meeting between Spain and France at a major tournament. France won three of the first four, including 2-0 in the EURO 1984 final and 2-1 in the 2000 European Championship quarter-finals.

However, Spain won the most recent encounter, beating Les Bleus 2-0 in the last 16 at EURO 2012.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd of 70,000 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Spain took the lead in the 27th minute when Mikel Oyarzabal scored from close range after a cross from Dani Olmo.

France equalised in the 66th minute when Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot after Theo Hernandez was fouled by Cesar Azpilicueta.

However, Spain regained the lead in the 80th minute when Marco Asensio scored a stunning goal from outside the box.

France pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Spain held on to secure the victory.

Spain will now face either Croatia or the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.
